Graduate Student Colloquium Series

About the Graduate Colloquium Series

As part of their final grade for the Master's Research Project, each student presents their research to date at our annual Graduate Colloquium Series which is generally held in April. Our MA program is interdisciplinary in nature, and our students come from a variety of undergraduate backgrounds. The Colloquium Series provides an excellent forum for them to learn about the interesting and varied research topics of their fellow students, and also gives them the opportunity to give and receive feedback in a supportive setting.
Each student is given approximately 20 minutes to present and a 10 minute question and answer period follows. The Colloquium Series is attended by all the current American Studies graduate students, their MRP Supervisors, and members of the Graduate Committee. Family members as well as CAS Alumni and incoming graduate students are also welcome to attend.
