Welcome to the Program in American Studies at Western University! We opened in 1984 to promote a greater understanding of the culture, history, and politics of the United States. We have faculty associates drawn from many departments across campus, including Anthropology, English, History, Information and Media Studies, Law, Music, Political Science, and Women's Studies. In 2005 we launched an interdisciplinary undergraduate program.
In association with the Program in American Studies, Western faculty and students have travelled, attended conferences, and studied in the United States. The program has mounted a number of conferences, round-tables, and hosts dynamic speakers every year.
We are proud to be one of the foremost leaders in American Studies in Canada.
